If whole communities were wiped out in the tsunami, who exactly are we sending aid to?
Now, don't get me wrong, the survivors need help, but you don't send "aid" to dead people. I hope we aren't sending money to "rebuild" communities that don't have any survivors.
The whole "Bush didn't talk about he tsunami soon enough" and "Bush didn't send enough money" crowd are typical liberals. "Let's talk before we know anything and send lots of money before we know what happened." That's exactly how our government works. Throw money at it and your conscience is made to feel better. No problem if the money never gets to the right people or doesn't accomplish anything, after all, the governments "follow up" if practically nil.
These are the same liberals who thought Bush sat to long in the classroom after he received word of the WTC attack. They thought he should have jumped up and ran out of the room so he could "help". The liberals need to learn a little patience. Stop and think before you "help".
One of the biggest problems the relief workers are going to have is with what is left of the corrupt local governments. Many of the places hardest hit are notorious for graft and corruption. With the break down of society that has apparently happened in many places, the chances for abuse are increased dramatically.
Do we need to help? Yes, do we need to throw money at it without thinking? No.
